What personal data we process, why, and our lawful basis

Site analytics

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) may process information about use of the site, such as page views and device or browser information, to produce aggregate site statistics. The lawful basis is your consent. Analytics loads only after you choose “Accept analytics”. Rejecting prevents the tag from loading; withdrawing consent removes our GA cookies and reloads the page without the tag.

GA4 retains both event-level and user-level data for 2 months. Google signals, user-provided data collection, and ads personalisation are disabled, and data sharing with Google for its own products and services is turned off. Analytics may record approximate location (city level) and device type. Analytics cookies are set for 12 months after consent.

Hosting and security logs

Replit hosting may process request and operational log data, which may include IP addresses. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in security, abuse prevention, and operating the site. Logs are retained for about 30 days under Replit's platform settings.

Firm profile information

Profiles contain business information about firms, which is not itself personal data. A description or contact detail may identify an individual. Where a profile names a person, we rely on legitimate interests in informing interim executives about PE firms, using publicly available business information. We keep profile information while the profile is live and accurate, and remove personal data promptly on a valid objection. You may object or ask for a correction or removal via Contact / corrections.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we process the email address and message contents to respond to enquiries and keep profiles accurate. The lawful basis is legitimate interests. We keep contact and correction emails for 12 months after the matter closes.

Cookies and similar storage

The site also stores a theme preference in browser localStorage. In the admin area, the application sets a sessionId cookie for authenticated sessions (HttpOnly, up to 24 hours) and a sidebar_state cookie for the sidebar preference (up to seven days). These apply when the admin interface is used, not as public-directory analytics cookies.

We store your accepted or rejected analytics choice and its timestamp in first-party localStorage for up to 12 months. This preference storage is strictly necessary to remember your choice. Once it expires, we ask again. Use the “Cookie settings” button in the footer to revisit analytics consent or withdraw it.

Who receives your data

Replit, Inc. provides hosting, request logs, the database, and AI-assisted drafting of profile summaries, including through AI model providers engaged by Replit. An administrator may send excerpts of public firm websites to that drafting service; these excerpts may name individuals. Google provides GA4 after consent. Microsoft 365 handles email, supplied through GoDaddy.

International transfers

Google Analytics may process data in the US, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (UK Extension) and Google's data processing terms. Replit hosts data in the US; transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum / UK International Data Transfer Agreement under Replit's Data Processing Agreement. Microsoft 365 mailbox data is stored in Europe under Microsoft's Data Protection Addendum.

How long we keep your information

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable data protection law, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time using the footer’s “Cookie settings” button; withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
